GRWM: the outfit that calms my nerves 😭

Time is moving way too fast because how am I already at the “senior capstone / final project / panel of judges” stage?? I swear I was just figuring out my first syllabus yesterday. Now it’s presentation season, and I’m trying to look like I have my life together even if my stomach is doing backflips.

Whenever I have to present in front of a class, a professor, or a whole panel, I always remind myself of one thing: if my outfit feels secure, my voice feels steadier. It’s the “look good, feel good” thing, but for real. The goal isn’t to look flashy. The goal is to look polished, professional, and comfortable enough to stand and talk without thinking about my clothes.

Choosing the vibe: business formal vs business casual

Before I even pull anything off a hanger, I pick an aesthetic (because it helps me stop spiraling). For a senior research presentation or capstone, I usually bounce between these options:
